This season features the slowest pace of Ukrainian corn exports in several years, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, export shipments in September-May 2017/18 totaled some 15 MMT that is down 17% year-on-year (18.2 MMT in September-May 2016/17). Corn exports from Ukraine slowed down noticeably in May 2017/18, when 1.8 MMT was shipped to foreign markets. This is almost 21% less than in the previous month and 32% less than in May 2016/17. This year witnessed certain changes in the range of export destinations for Ukrainian corn. A drop was seen in shipments to most key markets. So, corn exports to the EU in September-May 2017/18 were down 10% on the year, while those to Egypt decreased 31% and deliveries to Iran and Tunisia fell by 58% and 43%, respectively. In fact, no corn was supplied to South Korea. At the same time, China boosted imports of Ukrainian corn by 182% in the period under review. Supplies to Turkey skyrocketed to 997.4 KMT this season against 93.7 KMT a year ago. Exports to Israel increased 14%.
