Farmers today blocked the Khatima-Panipat Highway at Kairana in Uttar Pradesh in protest after the Haryana police allegedly stopped their paddy-laden tractor trolleys from entering the state. The paddy was being taken to mandis in Haryana for sale. Additional District Magistrate of Shamli Shivbahadur Singh said the blockade was lifted after the agitating farmers were pacified.
