The amount of US corn inspected for export in the week that ended January 18 rose 13.6% week on week to 668,946 MT. The amount of corn inspected was 32.2% lower than the 986,268 mt inspected for export in the year-ago week. Most of the US’ grain exports continued to be soybeans, with 58.5% of the total inspected for export, compared with 27.6% for corn. Despite the US government shutdown, the Grain Inspection Administration, is able to provide its inspection and weighting program activities by the use of user fees and appropriate funds.
