The amount of US corn used for ethanol production in January dropped 2.4% compared with December’s total, and rose 0.5% compared with the same month a year earlier. In its monthly grain crushings and co-product production report, the USDA said 476.129 million bushels of corn was used for ethanol production in the US in January, compared with 487.713 million bushels in December and 473.641 million bushels in January 2018. The proportion of corn consumed in December for dry milling fuel production and wet milling fuel production was 90.6% and 9.4%, respectively.
