US winter wheat production drops 24%.

U.S. saw a large decline in winter wheat and all wheat production during this past crop year. USDA reported winter wheat production for 2017 totaled 1.27 billion bushels, down 24 percent from the revised 2016 total of 1.67 billion bushels. U.S. winter wheat yields averaged 50.2 bushels per acre, 5.1 bushels less than in 2016.
