USDA has estimated Thailand 2018 rice exports at 10 MMT, down from 10.20 mln tn projected by its parent body USDA. The country has exported 9.2 mln tn of rice during Jan-Oct, up 20% on year. Exports are up due to competitive prices of Thai rice. Currently, Thailand white rice prices are priced 5% lower than Vietnamese rice. Thai parboiled rice prices are the same as the Indian parboiled rice.
