USDA says recent rains helped spring wheat crop.

Recent rains in northern plains of the US have helped to improve condition of the spring wheat crop. USDA pegged 32% of country’s spring wheat crop in good or excellent condition, tad up from a week ago. However, the reading is still sharply lower than the average of the last five years, which was at 69% for good or excellent crop. That was the first rise in weekly condition readings for the crop this season, which has been marked by drought in the northern plains, the key spring wheat-growing area.
