USDA sees Australia 2017-18 wheat output (21.5 MMT) at 9-year low.

Australia’s wheat output may fall to a nine-year low of 21.5 MMT in 2017-18. The estimate is also lower than 22.5 MMT forecast in September. Australia’s wheat production is seen falling because of persistent dry conditions in most parts of eastern Australia. Owing to a downward revision in output, the forecast for wheat exports from Australia has also been cut by 0.5 MMT to 18.0 MMT.
