USDA ups 2017-18 global wheat output view by 6.3 MMT to 751.2 MMT.

USDA has raised its estimate for global wheat production in 2017-18 by 6.3 MMT to 751.2 MMT due to higher forecast for output of Russia, European Union and India, and is seen offsetting the fall in Australia’s production. The estimate for Russia’s production was raised to a new record high of 82 MMT, up by 1 MMT from a month ago. The projection for European Union was raised by 2.2 MMT to 151 MMT, largely due to higher production in France. For India, the agency has increased its production estimate to 98.4 MMT, up from 96 MMT a month ago, while wheat imports are seen lower by 0.5 MMT at 3.5 MMT. The import estimate for world wheat was slightly lowered to 178.9 MMT from 179.4 MMT a month ago.
