Uttar Pradesh pays 10 rupees/100 kg over MSP for FY19 wheat buys.

Uttar Pradesh government continues to pay 10 rupees over and above the minimum support price for wheat procurement in the state during 2018-19 marketing year started April. The Centre has fixed a minimum support price of 1,735 rupees per 100 kg for purchasing wheat from farmers. This is an incentive given to farmers so they could pay labour to clean, load, and transport their produce to wheat procurement centres…we paid this incentive last year and have been paying it for this season as well. This money will be transferred directly to their bank accounts along with the payment made for the procurement. The Uttar Pradesh government has set a procurement target of 4 mln tn wheat from farmers in the current marketing year against 3.7 mln tn, purchased in the previous year.
