Vietnam’s coffee exports in the first eight months are expected to fall an estimated 19.4 percent on a year earlier, while rice shipments are set to rise 22.7 percent from the same period in 2016. Coffee exports from Vietnam, the world’s largest robusta producer, will drop an estimated 19.4 percent in the first eight months from the same period last year, the General Statistics Office said in a report on Tuesday. Shipments of beans were estimated at 1.026 million tonnes (17.1 million 60-kg bags) in the eight-month period, with exports in August seen at 95,000 tonnes, lower than July’s exports of 101,000 tonnes.
