Wheat down in Delhi on weak demand, unchanged on NCDEX.

Wheat prices fell in the key wholesale Delhi market due to weak demand as there are ample supplies in the market. For the past few days, wheat traders have been speculating that the government might increase the import duty from the current 20%, keeping in mind the upcoming domestic harvest and cheap availability of Russian wheat. Government sources said that though no proposal in this regard had been floated yet and the government was open to making changes in the trade policy to safeguard farmers’ interests, whenever required.
