Prices of wheat rose in key wholesale market Indore, Madhya Pradesh due to low supply. On an average, about 2,000-2,500 bags (1 bag = 100 kg) of wheat arrive in the market daily compared with 7,000-8,000 bags a year ago. Supply of wheat in Madhya Pradesh is low as most farmers have sold their crop to the government. For the current marketing year, the Centre has procured 6.8 mln tn wheat in Madhya Pradesh, up 4.9% from a year ago.
