Sunseed stocks in Ukraine were up 69% year-on-year.

Sunseed stocks in Ukraine totaled 729.4 KMT as of August 1, 2017, or 69% more than on the same date last year (431.5 KMT). 383.0 KMT out of this volume was held by growers themselves (+85.87 KMT or up 28% year-on-year), while sunseed storage and processing companies accounted for 346.4 KMT (+212.1 KMT or up 158%). By August 1, 2017, crushers had stockpiled almost 79.7% more soybeans than at the same time last year (135.7 KMT against 75.5 KMT by August 1, 2016). Rapeseed availabilities as of the reporting date were up 81% year-on-year at 988.4 KMT against 546.55 KMT as of August 1, 2016.

Ukraine exported a record 4.5 MMT of sunmeal.

Sunmeal exports from Ukraine totaled 384 KMT in July 2017 that was the largest volume for this month. The pace of export sales slowed down to some degree against June 2017 (-2%), though being up 50% year-on-year. In general, they remain at a record level in the current season. So, 4519 KMT of sunmeal was supplied to foreign markets during the eleven months of MY 2016/17, or 26.6% more than at the same time last season (3570 KMT).

NAFED resumes sunflower seed purchase in Telangana, buys 115 tonne.

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has resumed procurement of sunflower seed in Telangana after it had wound up operations in May-end. The agency procured 115 tonne of sunflower seed under the price support scheme in the state on its first day. The procurement drive is underway at the Medak procurement centre. The agency has also started procurement of groundnut in Odisha and bought 282 tonne on its first day on Tuesday under the price support scheme.

NAFED procures 94 tonne sunflower seed in Odisha.

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has procured 94 tonne of sunflower seed under the price support scheme in Odisha. The procurement drive, which started in late July, is underway in Eram district and 152 farmers have sold their crop to the agency. NAFED started procuring the crop from growers as market prices fell below the minimum support price of 3,950 rupees per 100 kg, inclusive of a bonus of 100 rupees. The agency has wound up procurement of the oilseed in Haryana and Telangana.

NAFED buys 52 tonne sunflower seed in Odisha so far.

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has procured 52 tonne of sunflower seed under the price support scheme in Odisha as of Friday. The procurement drive, which started on Wednesday, is underway in Eram district and 72 farmers have benefitted from it. The agency has started procuring the crop from growers as market prices have fallen below the minimum support price of 3,950 rupees per 100 kg, inclusive of a bonus of 100 rupees. The agency has wound up its sunflower seed procurement in Haryana and Telangana.

The procurement drive, which began last month, is underway in the Ambala, Sahabad, Ladwa, and Pehowa districts of Haryana, under the price support scheme. About 2,453 farmers have sold their produce to the agency. The agency is procuring the oilseed from growers at the minimum support price of 3,950 rupees per 100 kg, including a bonus of 100 rupees, as market prices are below this level.
