NCDEX coriander hits 3% lower cap as supply seen up

The April contract of coriander on NCDEX hit the 3% lower circuit on expectation of a rise in supply in the coming days. Higher carryover stocks amid subdued demand from overseas buyers also weighed on prices. Carryover stocks are estimated at 8 mln bags (1 bag = 40 kg) compared with 5-6 mln bags in 2015-16.

CBOT soybean at 1-yr high on Argentina crop worries

The May contract of soybean on CBOT hit a one-year high of $10.55 a bushel due to concern that prevailing dry weather in Argentina may hit the yield of the country’s soybean crop. The most-active May contract of soybean on CBOT traded at $10.5350 a bushel, up 0.6% from the previous close.

Malaysia CPO up on cues from CBOT soy, output worry

Futures contracts of crude palm oil rose on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives today tracking gains in CBOT soyoil and on worries of lower output in the coming months. The most-active May contract of crude palm oil on the Malaysian bourse was trading at 2,540 ringgits (42,087 rupees) per tn, up 17 ringgits from the previous close. Strength in the ringgit against the dollar is likely to limit sharp gains in the contract as it makes exports less attractive for sellers of the commodity.

Mustard seed down in Jaipur on higher arrivals

Prices of mustard seed were down in Jaipur, Rajasthan, due to a surge in arrivals amid subdued demand from domestic oil millers and crushers. A decline in the acreage of the oilseed, however, cushioned the fall in prices.
