India coriander down on high imports
The trend for futures contracts of jeera, mentha oil and turmeric in the next five trading sessions is seen bullish, while coriander and cardamom contracts may post losses. On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, prices of coriander may continue to decline as demand is very poor and imports are on a rise. Imports may rise from Ukraine as the country’s production is likely to double to 14,000-16,000 tn this year.

The rebound in soybean crushing margins is down to more than Argentine drought. The drought in Argentina certainly contributed to the increasing soy crush margins.
Ukraine soybean oil exports reached a record in 2017/18 season
Soybean oil exports in 2017/18 (September-March) reached a record 104.2 KMT that is up 3.3% on the year (100.9 KMT). Ukrainian soybean oil exports totaled 19.6 KMT in March 2018. This is as much as in the previous month but down 17.3% from March 2017, when export supplies from Ukraine hit an all-time high of 23.7 KMT. UkrAgroConsult expects 2017/18 soybean oil exports at record high level of 160 KMT.
Soybean up in Indore on CBOT cues, tight supply.
Soybean prices rose marginally in Indore tracking gains in bellwether contracts on the CBOT and lower-than-usual supplies. Average arrivals in the first week of May last were estimated at 50,000 bags. CBOT soybean was up on worries of lower output in Argentina and higher exports from the US.

The average daily air temperature climbed over 100? on April 1-10 (on April 11-22 in the northeasternmost areas), or 10-25 days ahead of the long-term average. At the time, precipitation in Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk regions amounted to 54-69% of normal (7-9 mm). Odesa, Cherkasy, Zakarpattya regions, most parts of Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kirovohrad regions and single areas in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Lviv and Rivne regions received no precipitation at all. Winter rape plantings are at the stages of stem growth, emergence of inflorescence, and even at the beginning of bloom in some southern areas. Their condition is mostly good and fair, being poor in some northern areas
Russian rapeseed exports hit an all-time high
Russian rapeseed exports in July-February 2017/18 expanded to 178.8 KMT that is already almost three times as much as for the whole of MY 2016/17 (68.7 KMT). In addition, this is an all-time high for this period. Rapeseed supplies from Russia totaled 5.1 KMT in February 2018 that was down 39% from January 2018 (8.4 KMT) and down 9% from February 2017 (5.6 KMT). The top rapeseed importers were China (56% of total exports) and Mongolia (20%).
Mustard up in Jaipur on demand from oil millers
Prices of mustard seed rose in Jaipur on demand from oil-millers. On NCDEX, the most-active May contract was at 3,800 rupees per 100 kg, up 12 rupees. Short covering by market participants along with gains in spot markets led to a rise in May contract.

Dairy body to buy 3,000 tn de-oiled rice bran.
The National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India will buy 3,000 tn of de-oiled rice bran and 1,000 tn of maize through an e-auction on May 9. The commodities will be bought on behalf of The Erode District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. The National Cooperative Dairy Federation, which has about 200 dairy cooperatives as members, has developed an online trading platform to purchase feed stock and sell dairy products.
Egypt’s local wheat buying surges in first two weeks of harvest
Egypt, the world’s largest wheat importer, has so far bought 1.4 million tonnes of the grain from farmers in its harvest, procuring more than a third of its target in the first two weeks. The government is looking to buy about 4 million tonnes of wheat from farmers this harvest, which ends in July. Egypt expects to buy an additional 7 million tonnes of the grain from abroad during the 2018-19 financial year that begins in July. It uses the wheat to supply a sprawling bread subsidy system relied on by tens of millions of people.

A flour mill in Indonesia last week bought up to 60,000 tonnes of wheat from the Black Sea region for August shipment. The deal was signed at around $220-$222 a tonne, including cost and freight (C&F).
Punjab, Haryana wheat procurement nearly 195 lakh tonnes.
WheatProcurementof nearly 195 lakh tonnes has been made in FoodGrain StatesPunjaband Haryanathis season. In Punjab, the WheatProcurementwas nearly 116 lakh tonnes till April 30 (Monday) as compared to 110.24 tonnes procured in the same period last year. Over 115.23 lakh tonnes (99.6 percent) has been procured by government agencies. In Haryana, over 79 lakh tonnes of Wheathas been procured so far this season.
FCI Wheat purchases top 27 mt as arrivals pick up.
As market arrivals increase, Government agencies such as the Food Corporation of India (FCI) have stepped up the procurement of wheat. Total purchases of the cereal, so far in the 2018-19 marketing season, have exceeded 27 million tonnes (mt), about 12.5 per cent higher than in the corresponding period last year. The Centre is targeting a procurement of 32 mt in the current year, higher than last year’s 30.82 mt.
