India mustard seed futures slip on weak spot cues.

Mustard seed prices came down in futures trading today amid slashing of positions by speculators in line with weak physical markets. Reducing of holdings by speculators, tracking a weak trend at the physical markets on ample stocks following pick up in arrivals from growing belts amid muted demand from oil mills mainly weighed on mustard seed prices at futures market here.

Jaipur mustard seed prices down as arrivals double.

Prices of mustard seed fell in Jaipur today due to a surge in arrivals amid subdued demand from domestic stockists. Demand from domestic buyers was subdued as prices had hit a near two-week high. Arrivals across the country were estimated at 160,000 bags (1 bag = 85 kg) compared with 80,000 bags on 29 Sep. Supply has doubled because farmers have been offloading stocks to take advantage of the recent run up in prices.

CBOT soybean down on improved sowing in Brazil.

Futures contracts of soybean on the CBOT fell on improved sowing operations in Brazil, supported by favourable weather conditions. Sentiment for soybean is likely to remain bearish in the near-term due to accelerating harvesting activities in major growing regions of the US.

NCDEX soybean down on favourable weather prospects.

Futures contracts of soybean fell over 1% on NCDEX due to improved weather prospects, analysts said. Clear weather is helpful for ongoing harvesting and post harvesting operations of soybean in key growing areas of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Improved weather indicates lower damage to the crop during harvest, which is seen weighing on prices.

Soybean ends 1.5% dn on weak spot buying, CBOT cues.

The futures contracts of the edible oil basket traded mixed on the domestic exchanges with soybean and mustard falling while refined soyoil and crude palm oil rise. Agrimet says soybean crop in Malwa ready for harvest.

IMD’s Agrimet division has advised farmers to harvest the soybean crop after physiological maturity in the Malwa plateau region in Madhya Pradesh. Eight districts, including Indore, fall under the Malwa region. Agrimet has also advised farmers not to burn the crop residue and prepare the field for sowing of gram crop. Soybean acreage in Madhya Pradesh, the largest producer in the country, this kharif season was at 5 mln ha, down 7.2% on year

FCI to auction 1,284 tn moong via NCDEX e-Mkts on Oct 04.

Food Corp of India will offer 1,284.26 tn of moong for auction through NCDEX e-Markets. The pulse is stocked at godowns in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. FCI is selling pulses through NCDEX e-markets to dispose off its huge stock built through procurement from farmers and high imports in 2016-17. (Apr-Mar).
