By August 1, 2017, crushers had stockpiled almost 79.7% more soybeans than at the same time last year (135.7 KMT against 75.5 KMT by August 1, 2016). Rapeseed availabilities as of the reporting date were up 81% year-on-year at 988.4 KMT against 546.55 KMT as of August 1, 2016.

So, 4519 KMT of sunmeal was supplied to foreign markets during the eleven months of MY 2016/17, or 26.6% more than at the same time last season (3570 KMT).

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has resumed procurement of sunflower seed in Telangana after it had wound up operations in May-end. The agency procured 115 tonne of sunflower seed under the price support scheme in the state on its first day. The procurement drive is underway at the Medak procurement centre. The agency has also started procurement of groundnut in Odisha and bought 282 tonne on its first day on Tuesday under the price support scheme.
