Kota coriander up on bargain buying, low arrivals

Prices of coriander rose marginally in Kota, Rajasthan, today due to a sharp fall in arrivals and increase in buying at lower price levels. Prices have been on the decline for the past two weeks. The most active May contract of coriander on the NCDEX traded up 0.6%.

Soybean prices seen up; rift with US may steer China demand to India

Prices of soybean are expected to top 4,000 rupees per 100 kg, a level last seen two years ago, in a month due to high probability of China buying Indian soymeal, coupled with shrinking arrivals in physical markets. Currently, soybean prices at the key market of Indore are around 3,700 rupees per 100 kg. With US-China trade relations uncertain, in all probability, China may have to look to other markets to fulfil its demand for soybean.

Soybean prices were down in Akola, a key market for the oilseed, because of lower demand from crushers for meal. The most active soybean futures were down 1% at 3,721 rupees per 100 kg tracking sharp fall in the soybean contracts on CBOT.

Chana down in Delhi as supply in Madhya Pradesh up

Chana prices in Delhi were down as arrivals in markets of Madhya Pradesh increased sharply, despite government procurement. Farmers are currently not interested in selling their produce to the government because of a delay in payment and as farmers are being asked to bring fair average quality stocks.

Tur prices up in Akola on bargain buying

Tur prices rose in the benchmark market of Akola due to bargain buying.Prices have been below the minimum support price of 5,450 rupees per kg due to weak demand from millers and stockists as there were sufficient supplies.

Barley prices fall in Jaipur on concern over quality

Prices of barley fell in Jaipur, Rajasthan, because concern over quality of domestic stocks restricted demand from malt industries. A surge in arrivals of the grain amid subdued demand from domestic stockists also weighed on prices. Despite concern over quality, good demand from poultry feed industries cushioned fall in prices.

Soybean prices were slightly up in Akola due to bargain buying by oilseed crushers. The most active soybean contracts were slightly up tracking gains in the spot. However sharp gains were capped because of weakness in the soybean contracts on CBOT.
