Barley prices tad down in Jaipur as arrivals double
Prices of barley were tad down in the benchmark market of Jaipur in Rajasthan due to a surge in arrivals of the new crop. Subdued demand from malt industries and domestic stockists also weighed on barley prices.
Kota coriander prices up on firm demand for new crop
Prices of coriander rose in Kota, Rajasthan, as demand for new crop rose while production declined in 2017-18 (Oct-Sep) owing to unattractive returns last season. Ramganj market was closed on account of a local festival.
NCDEX chana up on renewed demand from dal millers
Futures contracts of chana rose on NCDEX due to renewed demand from dal millers. On NCDEX, the most-active April contract was at 3,721 rupees per 100 kg, up 0.98%. A rise in prices of the pulse in the key spot markets also supported chana contracts on the bourse. A rise in arrivals was, however, insufficient to meet demand which supported chana prices.
Tur up in Kalaburagi on improved demand from millers
Tur prices were up in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, because of improved demand from dal millers. A fall in arrivals also supported prices of tur. Gains in chana prices are also seen supporting tur prices as both are substitutes for each other.

The Food Corp of India has offered 7,839.57 tn of urad for auction through NCDEX e-Markets. The pulse being auctioned is stocked at warehouses in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.

Prices of soybean rose in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, due to a fall in arrivals of the oilseed and higher demand for soymeal from the poultry feed industry. Improved demand from domestic oil millers and crushers is also seen supporting soybean prices. Strong demand for soybean in the US is seen supporting prices on CBOT, boosting prices in the domestic market.

Prices of mustard seed rose in the benchmark market of Jaipur due to renewed demand from oil millers and crushers. Also, as the government approved 800,000 tn mustard procurement in Rajasthan, oilseed prices were supported. A rise in arrivals of the oilseed, however, capped sharp gains in prices.
