Malaysia CPO ends higher as Jan output seen down

CBOT soybean up as Argentina weather woes re-emerge

Soybean contracts on CBOT were up as dry weather in Argentina re-emerged, raising worries about decline in the output. The most active March contract on the CBOT was at $9.9275 a bushel, up 0.7% from the previous close. Dry weather in Argentina, the third largest producer of the oilseed, is estimated to impact the output there

NCDEX soybean hits 3% upper cap as spot supply low

Futures contracts of soybean hit 3% upper limit on NCDEX due to low supply of the commodity in spot markets. The most-active March contract was at 3,668 rupees per 100 kg, up 100 rupees. Gains in soybean contracts on CBOT are also seen supporting domestic oilseed prices. Prices of CBOT soybean rose due to concerns over dry weather in Argentina which may affect output. Oilseed prices in the benchmark market of Indore increased on anticipation of a fall in arrivals in coming days.

Coriander prices flat in Kota on low demand, supply

rices of coriander were unchanged in Kota, the benchmark market, as lower arrivals were offset by poor demand for the spice. Demand for the spice is likely to remain weak in the near term due to higher moisture content in the new crop. The most active April contract of coriander on NCDEX was down 0.2%

India 2017-18 mustard crop seen dn 10% at 5.9 mln tn

India’s mustard output in 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) is seen falling nearly 10% to 5.9 mln tn due to a decline in acreage amid dry weather conditions. Mustard acreage in the ongoing rabi season has declined due to low moisture level on the back of prolonged dry spell in key growing areas. Diversion of sown area to chana due to better realisation in the previous season had a negative impact on mustard acreage

Mustard seed prices up in Jaipur as acreage down

Prices of mustard seed rose in Jaipur due to a decline in the area under the oilseed and higher demand from oil millers and crushers. The area under the mustard crop across the country fell 5% on year to 6.7 mln ha in the 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) rabi season. Lower arrivals also supported prices of the oilseed.
