Over 37 lakh tonne wheat arrives in Haryana.

More than 37.15 lakh tonne wheat has arrived so far in the mandis of Haryana. Of the total arrival, the 5 government procuring agencies have purchased 37.12 lakh tonne and traders have purchased 3,000 tonnes of wheat at MSP. More than 9.36 lakh tonne wheat has been procured by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, where as Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd (HAFED) has purchased more than 12.54 lakh tonne wheat. FCI has purchased more than 4.25 LT wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation have purchased more than 3.09 LT and more than 7.85 LT wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation. District Kaithal leading in wheat arrival where more than 4.71 lakh tonne of the crop had been procured followed by district Karnal, which recorded more than 4.61 lakh tonne.

Iraq says to import wheat and rice through direct contracts.

Iraq Trade Ministry negotiating direct contracts for the import of rice and wheat after multiple failures to secure them through international tenders. Iraq has been struggling to import the grains for its food subsidy programmed after introducing new payment and quality terms that kept traders away from its international tenders. The Central Committee, after a failure of several tenders because of the new mechanisms for contracts, has begun to negotiate with large international companies to contract wheat.

India coffee exports during Jan 1- Apr 12.

Coffee crop estimate for 2015-16 at a record-high of 348,000 tonne, up from 327,000 tn produced a year ago, but down from previous estimate of 350,000 tonne. Coffee estimated output for 2016-17 at 316,700 MT tonne, down 9% on year.

Dairy body to buy 150 tonne de-oiled rice bran.

The National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India buy 150 tonne of de-oiled rice bran through a reverse electronic auction. The commodity used as cattle feed, will be bought on behalf of Indian Immunological. The national federation has nearly 200 dairy cooperatives as its members, has developed an online trading platform to purchase feed stock and sell dairy products.

Jaipur barley prices up on low supply, high demand.

Prices of barley rose in Jaipur for the second consecutive day because of lower arrivals and rising demand from Stuckists, feed sector and the malt industry. The grain was quoted up 10 rupees from previous close in the key market of Jaipur. Arrivals of the new crop of barley were pegged at 70,000 bags (1bag=85kg), compared with 90,000 bags on previous close. Supplies are lower because farmers are holding their produce as they expect prices to rise in the coming days.

NCDEX barley down tracking rise in warehouse stocks.

Futures contracts of barley on the NCDEX were down due to an increase in stocks of the commodity at exchange warehouse the most active May contract of barley on the NCDEX traded down 0.4% from previous close. Barley stocks at exchange warehouses were at 6,165 tonnes, compared with 5,058 tonnes the previous close.
